    Postato: 15 Nov 2017 alle 9:20am

Only two games were played over the past seven days, but we still have plenty to talk about in the world where the Flyers roam.

Of course, we do … there's always plenty to talk about with the Flyers.

The not-so-busy week gave the Flyers time to heal up. When the skates returned to the ice, we were shown glimpses of the potential the Flyers possess but also saw the deficiencies that could anchor them going forward.

The week kicked off in a big way Thursday with a commanding 3-1 victory over the visiting Chicago Blackhawks and swiftly ended with a thud thanks to a deflating 1-0 loss to the Minnesota Wild Saturday evening.

Let's dive into this week's main course, adidas Ivan Provorov jersey, shall we?

Sean Couturier and Jakub Voracek,What you saw Thursday from the trio of Claude Giroux, now that's what an elite NHL top line looks like. The triumvirate made the Blackhawks look silly with the way they controlled the puck and had helpless defenders guessing the night away. Each player scored and each was sparkling in its own separate way. Giroux's was a torpedo off a great Voracek steal and pass. Voracek's was a missile of his own off a threaded Shayne Gostisbehere cross-ice feed. And Couturier's was the exclamation point of a lovely rush featuring a Giroux primary assist that was so good Corey Crawford's head is still spinning and looking for the puck three days later.

indeed. But … not so much two nights later as the Wild stymied the top line and the Flyers were left scoreless for a league-leading (?) fourth time already this season. There's a theme here and it's not the best one for the Flyers. Look, adidas Ivan Provorov jersey,Oh happy day, it's great for them the top line is producing the way it is. But what about everyone else? The top line can't score all the goals. That's a recipe for disaster.

My colleague Tom Dougherty astutely pointed out earlier this week that Couturier's scoring surge has been masking this secondary scoring wart. But as time goes on here, that mask will wash away. The top line has combined for 23 of the Flyers' 50 goals thus far. That's a whopping 46 percent. The unit has also combined for 60 of the 140 points the team has recorded. That's good for 42.9 percent of the pie. This is not sustainable and something is going to have to change soon for the Flyers to find continued success. It's not a coincidence they haven't reeled together consecutive wins in almost a month.

but who knows from there. Remember he practiced back before the game in Toronto? GM Ron Hextall said prior to Saturday's game Patrick hasn't experienced any setbacks but is still trying to work back. It's a scary thing because everyone responds differently to a concussion and you can't push the envelope. The Flyers are rightfully being cautious with Patrick. Right now isn't as important as the 19-year-old's future.,Authentic Travis Konecny jersey, sure, when a concussion has sidelined a player for this long,Is it time to worry about Nolan Patrick as a concussion has knocked the prized rookie out for the last couple weeks? I'll put it like this: there is always worry about any concussion. But,Authentic Wayne Simmonds jersey, it's worrisome. The plan is for Patrick to practice with the team Monday before the trip to Minnesota

which is just what the doctor ordered right about now., an uncharacteristic span of nine games. Hextall admitted Saturday evening Simmonds hasn't been completely healthy in recent weeks but has been battling through for the team. And that has been evident as Simmonds hadn't been his noticeable self over the last couple weeks. Something was just missing in his game. But this week, Simmonds was noticeable again. While he didn't find his way onto the score sheet,Authentic Claude Giroux jersey,Wayne Simmonds hasn't scored since he wired the game-winner Oct. 21 late against Edmonton, he had that spark and jump that we've become accustomed to. And that's excellent news for the Flyers. A healthy Simmonds obviously takes some of the scoring pressure off the top line

right? Brian Elliott has played very well in net and given the Flyers plenty of chances to win on most nights. In 11 starts this season, that's why they play the games, Elliott is 6-4-1 with a 2.73 goals-against average and .908 save percentage. Yes,Authentic Shayne Gostisbehere jersey, Neuvirth's numbers (2,Count this guy as one who thought Michal Neuvirth would take the lion's share of starts in net this season. Well, but that's in only six games.,17 GAA, .928 save percentage) are better

but it sure looks like Elliott has the No. 1 job on lock right now., who is notoriously fickle with his goalie decisions. And this was Elliott's best week in a Flyers uniform yet. He was superb against Chicago, stopping 38 shots in the 3-1 win. His breakaway stop on Brandon Saad was excellent,Elliott has the early trust of Dave Hakstol, as he waited Saad out and didn't give him much real estate to shoot at. He followed that performance up Saturday with 27-save outing but took the hard-luck defeat after a bad bounce victimized him early in the third. Things can change with the snap of Hakstol's finger

I'll just end that sentence and this column here for your health., now at 14 since 1996, is just befuddling. How is that even possible? It's like that 23-year winless streak the Flyers had at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit that was only snapped a few years back. I mean,he Blackhawks' regular-season winless streak in Philadelphia, it's not like the Blackhawks have never won in South Philly … OK

1-2,Temple finished the three-game weekend, but coach Mark Spease liked what he saw out of his team in the final two games of the weekend.

” Spease said. “I thought we played really well. We controlled shots. The last six periods,“The last two games were our best six periods consecutively of the year, everyone on the staff agrees have been our best six.”

4-0, in its lone victory over the weekend at the Warwick Ice Arena in Warminster,Temple (6-10-1) beat St. Bonaventure University, Pennsylvania.

Junior goaltender Zach Burkhardt registered the team’s first shutout of the season, even though the Owls were outshot 46-42.

Burkhardt stopped all 46 shots he saw in net and helped the Owls kill all nine penalties.

” senior defenseman and captain Ryan Dumbach said. “Burkhardt just stood on his head. He really came out and gave us a great performance. The forwards helped out on [defense],“I can’t tell you the last time we really had a team shutout, the [defense] stepped up. Just an all-around team performance.”

Sophomore forward Charles Ghiazza recorded Temple’s first hat trick performance of the season. Two of Ghiazza’s three goals came on special teams.

All three of Ghiazza’s goals were assisted by freshman forward Brendan Ondick. Ondick now leads Temple in points with 34. Dumbach also chipped in his sixth goal of the season in the second period.

The Owls two losses over the weekend were against the University of Maryland and Cornell University. In each of their losses, the Owls gave up four goals or more in the third period.

the Owls were outshot, 50-43,Authentic Ivan Provorov jersey,On Saturday against the Terrapins, in the 6-3 loss.

however,Temple and Marland were tied 1-1 entering the third period,Authentic Ivan Provorov jersey, the Terrapins outscored the Owls 5-2 in the final period. Maryland also finished the game 3-for-4 on the power play.

had some calls not go our way,“I think on Saturday we ran into some trouble with the refs,” Dumbach said. “Just some bad luck.”

where the Owls were outshot, adidas Travis Konecny jersey, 58-34. The Owls entered the third period against Cornell tied,Temple started off their three-game weekend with a 5-2 loss against Cornell University on Friday, but they let in four goals in the final period.

Freshman forward Eric DiPretoro scored both of Temple’s goals both, adidas Wayne Simmonds jersey, including one on the powerplay.

the Owls are 0-3 in divisional play. In their last meeting on Oct. 1,The Owls will face Drexel University on Saturday night at the Class of 1923 Arena on Penn’s campus in Philadelphia. For the season, the Dragons beat the Owls 5-4.

” Dumbach said. “I think everybody really came out and worked hard, adidas Claude Giroux jersey,“I think it was a pretty positive weekend for us, and I think overall we really improved as a team.”

MacDonald will skate Wednesday for the first time since sustaining his leg injury and is targeting a return for Nov. 21 against Vancouver, Sam Carchidi of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

as well as virtual ones that favor defensive stats., if the reports are to be believed, adidas Shayne Gostisbehere jersey, is in line to miss at least three more. The stay-at-home blueliner had just one goal on the season prior to getting hurt,MacDonald has already missed nine games as a result of this ailment and, but his defensive contributions upon his return could be of immense benefit to his real-life team

live at the Xcel Energy Center your Minnesota Wild take on the Philadelphia Flyers for the second time in as many games. The last decision went the Wild’s way thanks to Jason Zucker’s 6th consecutive goal scored for the Wild. If he can score the first goal for the Wild tonight,Tonight, he will tie a league record with 7 consecutive goals scored for a team.

and Brian Noonan who accomplished the same feat with the Chicago Blackhawks in 1991. It’s difficult enough to score 6 in a row, so let us not get crazy now and start etching his name in the record books. Just in case though,Zucker would join Cy Denneny who scored 7 consecutive goals for the Ottawa Senators in 1921, get the chisel handy.

The Wild are notoriously poor performing against the Flyers. The Wild have their worst record against any 1 opponent. Just 7 wins in 22 contests. Yikes. So the Wild go for 2 consecutive wins against their worst opponent while Jason Zucker goes for an NHL record and 7 consecutive goals for the Wild.

onto the music. Another gem I’ve found along my mystical music tour called life,Now, yet another reggae infused rock group with some fine melodies and a rock solid rhythm section that is sure to make you scoot your boot right there in your chair. Here’s Can’t Hang with a little ditty they call Peace.

this time in Minny. Here’s hoping for a goal this time. That’d be neat. Dave Hakstol has decided to mix up the middle six for this game,Because this schedule is weird we are back for some more Minnesota Wild action tonight, so it’ll be interesting to see what comes of it.

Ivan Provorov continues to be the brightest spot on the Flyers’ back end, and it doesn’t seem like that’ll change anytime soon.

who isn’t struggling to score goals with the Phantoms,The Flyers are struggling to score goals which means guys like Danick Martel, are going to get a little attention.

and he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame yesterday. Here he is in his own words,Mark Recchi is a guy a lot of Flyers fans still like for some reason, reflecting on his career.

now that this year’s class is in,So, who should we expect to get the HOF call next year?
