The San Francisco 49ers can take a good deal of optimism from the arrival of new head coach Kyle Shanahan. One of the most highly-regarded http://www.authenticseahawksproshop.com/shop-nfl-seattle-seahawks-cheap-78-bradley-sowell-jerseys.html offensive minds in the NFL is set to call the Bay Area home for the next six years and potentially beyond.
His reputation and coaching ability should be welcomed with open arms by the fan base, but there isn’t a whole lot else to be excited about as the Niners enter the 2017 season on offense. Career journeyman Brian Hoyer is penciled into the starting quarterback gig and will throw to Bruce Ellington, Pierre Garcon and Marquise Goodwin.
The running game will feature Carlos Hyde, pending his health. If healthy, his potential as a physical runner could make him a piece to build around. However, there’s no evidence that Hyde can stay healthy for a full 16-game slate.
Long story short, Coach Shanahan will have to earn every bit of his salary this year if the 49ers are going to compete on offense.
The good news for the 49ers? They invested a great deal into the defense the past few years — there’s some exciting talent across all three levels. When looking to 2017 and beyond, the 49ers’ cornerstone players currently reside on the defensive unit.
Foster was one of the stars of this year’s NFL Draft; the 49ers were eager to stop his potential slide out of the first round. Foster’s pre-draft circuit was filled with more questions than answers, but there’s no doubt his on-field product is top-shelf caliber. For a team thin on top talents, landing a player with Foster’s ceiling in the 30s is a huge break.
The 49ers have become accustomed to great play in the middle over the better part of the last 15 years, with Patrick Willis and Navarro Bowman http://www.bedava100.com/wholesale-nfl-arizona-cardinals-cheap-58-daryl-washington-jerseys.html patrolling that area of the field. Foster can be the heir apparent as Bowman enters the twilight of his career. Foster needs to prove that the questions around him during the pre-draft process were just white noise; if he does, he is poised to be the centerpiece of the 49ers’ defensive front for years to come.
The earlier of San Francisco’s two first-round picks in the 2017 NFL Draft, Thomas is a player whose positional designation remains uncertain. Ourlads currently slots Thomas — a Stanford product — as a defensive tackle, which is interesting because it’s a position both Oregon defensive linemen on the team would better served for. The 49ers are afforded a great deal of depth and ability to rotate along the front, so stressing about a positional designation is likely a moot point.
Thomas, as a top-three selection this year, is entering the league with a lot of expectations. Top-five pass rushers are expected to be disruptive forces along the front. Of the three early selections on the defensive line the 49ers currently possess, Thomas is best suited to set the edge as an “LEO.” He has also shown the most boundary pass rush prowess in the college ranks. If the 49ers are to avoid a backlog of interior defensive linemen, Thomas will have to play to his billing as a top-five overall prospect.
Buckner is a player I was especially Derek Anderson Womens Jersey high on throughout the process prior to the 2016 NFL Draft. There’s positional flexibility here, just as there is with Solomon Thomas. These two combined will give inside and outside blockers fits; they’re heavy-handed players with length and burst that is impressive for their frames.
How does Buckner fit along the front? Much like Thomas, he figures to be a big factor both inside and out. His presence and continued development give the 49ers the chance to rely on an organic pass rush (from the front four). The fates of these (front seven) early draft picks are all intertwined. High performance from Bucker, Thomas and Arik Armstead will provide a lot of space for Reuben Foster to roam and flow. The more pressure and flexibility Thomas, Buckner and Armstead offer, the more they’ll all be able to complement each other and stay on the field.
The previously mentioned Arik Armstead was a first-round selection in the 2015 NFL Draft. His transition will be the most interesting to watch for the 49ers as they change from a three-man front to a four-man front. He was the single most productive 3-4 defensive end in pass rush reps last year according to Pro Football Focus.
Now, Armstead will have to work from different angles if he wants to earn more continued success. As previously mentioned, the more San Francisco can haul out of its early investments over the past few years, the better situated the team will be. Having three early investments on the same unit gives the 49ers a chance to have a team identity, something they’ve been searching for since former coach Jim Harbaugh left.
Is this really C.J. Beathard? I don’t think it is, but it certainly won’t be the aging Brian Hoyer. The 49ers were frequently linked to Washington QB Kirk Cousins in the early parts of the offseason. Will he come west after the 2017 season? Will Beathard get the chance to showcase what he can do in Shanahan’s offense this year? I would expect that even if he does, the 49ers will be linked to many quarterbacks next offseason. An offensive guru needs a high-end signal-caller to translate his playbook to the field.
A San Francisco team that Captain Munnerlyn Youth Jersey has finished in the top half of the league in points scored just three times in the past 13 years (the three Jim Harbaugh seasons) will need high-end and consistent quarterback play. It’s paramount the team finds someone to fill that role.

The Arizona Cardinals veterans are http://www.cinemakolik.com/brenton-bersin-jersey-c-1_37.html off until training camp. The rookies, including second-round draft pick Budda Baker will still be in Tempe for work in the classroom and training for much of the time off. Baker needs the work, as he was unable to participate in any offseason practices because he was still enrolled in college at Washington.
He will have some help from a veteran he is compared to. Safety Tyrann Mathieu will also stay in town and will train at the team facility. He is excited to work with Baker.
Mathieu explained why he is http://www.hl-sapporo.com/chris-scott-jersey-c-1_45.html sticking around, which isn’t terribly common among veteran players.
“It’s comfortable for me being in Arizona, being away from distractions,” he explained in an interview on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM. “We would joke earlier about my being a home body, so I just prefer it. I don’t necessarily like being alone, but I don’t mind it.”

It’s hard to get fired up about anything you see in an NFL practice where the players are wearing shorts and aren’t allowed to tackle.
Hard, but not impossible.
Which brings us to Johnathan Hankins.
The biggest ticket (three http://www.authenticcoltssale.com/shop-by-players-bjoern-werner-jersey-c-1_10.html years, $27 million, with $14.5 million guaranteed) in the Colts’ biggest-ever free agent class (12 unrestricted veterans added), Hankins has quickly made an impression, even before registering his first takedown.
He has Pro Bowl ability, which in and of itself makes him something very different for the Colts. This franchise hasn’t sent an interior defensive lineman to the Pro Bowl since 1977 (Mike Barnes). Whether Hankins can fill that 40-year gap remains to be seen, but he should at least be a legitimate candidate.
“That’s a goal,” Hankins said. “Somebody on the defense has got to make it to the Pro Bowl, why not me? We can get somebody there.”
If things go according to Hankins’ plan, the Colts could have multiple contenders. He made a bold statement in mid-May on NFL Network: "Right now I feel like we got probably the best defense in the AFC.”
There was method behind that madness. For one, Hankins has been a part of a huge turnaround; the 2015 Giants were 32nd in total defense in Steve Spagnuolo’s first season as defensive coordinator, but jumped to 10th last season. For another, he was trying to do his part to bring a fresher, more confident culture to the defense.
“If you don’t set high goals, what are you working for?” he said. “I felt like that was necessary for me to do, especially with a new GM and the new atmosphere they want around here. That’s why they brought me in here, so just got to go out there and prove it.”
While his words certainly made an impression, so has the physical ability flashed during the offseason workouts.
“He’s a huge dude, and for as explosive http://www.authenticcoltsshop.com/shop-by-players-kendall-langford-jersey-c-1_25.html as he is, I mean you don’t see that with many guys that big,” said Henry Anderson. “So just kind of the pop that he comes out of his stance with is pretty impressive, and I’m sure that’s going to kind of translate once we put pads on.”
“Big, athletic guy who’s very stout,” said Kendall Langford. “He has some wiggle with him. He’s agile. He can get to the quarterback. I’m excited to line up beside him and play.”
The presence of the 6-2, 320-pound Hankins, has created genuine and well-founded excitement about the potential for the team’s defensive front. Anderson and Langford both are recovering from knee surgery but are on track to be available during training camp.
Langford had seven sacks from the end spot two seasons ago but battled the knee issue last year. A third-round pick in 2015, Anderson flashed as a rookie before tearing his right ACL, and then while working his way back from that surgery injured his left knee last year. If those two get back to full strength, they could flank Hankins in the most talented front the Colts have fielded since the days of Robert Mathis and Dwight Freeney
The Colts also have veterans David Mark Clayton Jersey Parry and Al Woods at nose tackle, with young prospects Hassan Ridgeway (fourth round, 2016) and Grover Stewart (fourth round, 2017), not to mention ex-Bengal Margus Hunt and holdover T.Y. McGill.
“If they come back and everybody is healthy, we’re going to probably say goodbye to some guys that’ll end up getting picked up and probably be in a rotation or be starting somewhere. I think that’s where we’re at right now,” said Chuck Pagano. “That could happen. We’re going to have to say goodbye to some good players because there are a lot of good players there right now, some guys who have potential and have played good football.”
Again, it’s June. They haven’t even had mini-camp yet, let alone training camp. And the head coach can barely contain his excitement about the talent up front.
The fact of the matter is, they aren’t even sure yet where Hankins will play. There are a lot of possible permutations of the personnel available, but the star around which the other planets will orbit is Hankins.
“To say what he is right now, it really is going to depend how it shakes out with Al and David and Henry Anderson and all those other guys,” said defensive coordinator Ted Monachino. “He does have a pretty wide skill set. We were doing some pass rush things on the practice field and he is a big, loose athlete and it’s good to have a big, loose athlete in the front so wherever we need to use him. If there’s somebody that’s a better nose, then he’ll play the three. If there’s somebody that’s a better three then he’ll play the nose. He’s going to fit right into the depth immediately and he’s going to come in and try to impact our defense as soon as he can.”
A second-round pick in 2013, Hankins broke through with seven sacks in his second season, showing surprising ability to finish as a pass-rusher. A torn pectoral muscle truncated his 2015 season but he bounced back nicely in 2016 with 43 tackles and three sacks.
The challenge will be fitting the pieces together efficiently.
“A lot of us are versatile,” said Anderson. “We play multiple positions. The three positions, d-end, d-tackle and nose tackle are all pretty similar. I know I don’t really have a body to play nose tackle, but if I need to play inside, I can play inside. We have a lot of guys like that. So yeah, I think we can present teams with different looks, and if we want to go with a quicker front, we can put in smaller guys because even some of the smaller guys we have can play well against the run. So yeah, excited to see what Kenny Clark Authentic Jersey we do with that.”
Versatility is nice, but can mitigate against stability. And stability is something the Colts desperately need. At the very least, with Hankins as the anchor, it appears they will have a foundation capable of supporting the construction of this defense.
It might not be the best in the NFL but, if Hankins has the expected influence on the field as well as off, it won’t be the worst.

GREEN BAY – Before he was a Pro Bowl left tackle or a second-team All-Pro selection, David Bakhtiari was just another rookie mid-round draft pick looking to make it in the NFL.
It was during his first summer in http://www.billsshopofficial.com/shop-by-players-mike-gillislee-jersey-c-1_35.html Green Bay Bakhtiari began learning the ins-and-outs of the Packers’ offensive line, taking backup reps behind starting left tackle Bryan Bulaga.
The opportunity proved priceless after an injury to Bulaga thrust Bakhtiari into a starting role in 2013. Reflecting on what that experience meant to his own development, Bakhtiari fully embraces the role he has on a week such as this.
Head Coach Mike McCarthy dismissed veterans with at least five seasons on their NFL ledger from this week’s minicamp to tailor the final three practices of the 2017 offseason program to the younger players on the roster.
Bakhtiari, who’s entering his fifth NFL season, didn’t make the cutoff. While a veteran of 69 career starts at one of the game’s most important positions might seem out of place among dozens of first- and second-year players, Bakhtiari doesn’t mind.
It’s practically become a rite of passage with how many homegrown offensive linemen the Packers have produced and reminiscent of how Bulaga didn’t mind sharing his time and insight when Bakhtiari was a rookie four years ago.
“Paying it forward is big,” Bakhtiari said. “There were older guys helping me when I got in, so it’s only right that I do the same.”
Bakhtiari is coming off a career year in 2016. He started all 19 games (including playoffs) and established himself as one of the league’s top tackles after signing an extension with the team on the eve of the regular season.
Yet, the 6-foot-4, 310-pound left tackle and http://www.buccaneersprostore.com/new-style-cheap-replica-gosder-cherilus-78-jersey-online-sale.html his position coach James Campen believe the best is yet to come. Based on the strides Bakhtiari made a year ago, Campen has no doubts about how high his pupil’s ceiling runs.
“I think he has a lot of room to improvement. It’s easy to say that with a guy with his mindset,” Campen said. “He’s never satisfied. He’s going to continue to get better. He’s only going into his fifth year. He has a lot of playing time. David last year got stronger. He made strides with his physique and his physicality. Looking for him to be more accomplished in the run game this year and take another step in that direction.”
Bakhtiari slowly has assumed a more veteran role on the Packers’ offensive line over the past year with the departures of Josh Sitton, T.J. Lang and JC Tretter.
He’s now the one being asked questions inside the meeting room and understandably so. His knowledge bank is vast after learning how to handle the league’s premier pass-rushers on a weekly basis.
Still, he concedes the leadership of the room to Bulaga, now an eight-year veteran coming off arguably his best campaign.
“Bryan’s been the longest-tenured Green Bay Packer and that is his room,” Bakhtiari said. “Bryan’s done a great job in the room Michael Thomas Womens Jersey and his record speaks for itself, what he’s done in the league, and it’s awesome that I’ve been there. Because when I was younger, I was looking up to him, too.
“So for us to now help out, we’re some of the older guys, the longer-tenured guys with the Packers, I think it’s huge for the locker room.”
Bakhtiari would love nothing more than a full helping of reps, but he understands the importance of pacing himself in June. The coaching staff has been careful with how many snaps he and starting left guard Lane Taylor have taken.
Bakhtiari has spent just as much time assisting with reserve tackles Jason Spriggs and Kyle Murphy, the pair of 2016 draft choices who backed up Bakhtiari and Bulaga all of last season.
“Right now, any time I can lend a helping hand, especially with the younger guys, it’s big,” Bakhtiari said. “We’re only as strong as our weakest link. We need to have our young guys coming up big so we can make a strong push, especially in the latter end of the year.”
Although Bakhtiari is looking forward to potentially getting an early release into summer vacation next year, he’s enjoying his final week of the offseason program.
Even if he would’ve been excused this week, Bakhtiari would’ve still been in town anyway since he’s currently moving into a new house.
“I would have to stay here anyways for the Cameron Fleming Womens Jersey whole moving process,” Bakhtiari said. “I’m not too mad about it.”

DAVIE — Before Cameron Wake starting running around offensive tackles and overpowering running backs and torpedoing himself through quarterbacks last season, he was, well, on the bench a lot.
The Miami Dolphins had a plan and http://www.dolphinsjerseyofficial.com/shop-by-players-32-kenyan-drake-jersey-c-1_17.html that plan was to ease the wily veteran into the lineup and conserve his body for the most important snaps. There was medical research and some coaching input on the decision, which seemed to make some sense.
But then the Dolphins started the season slowly. And they started games slowly. And Wake wasn’t on the field enough or at the right moments (before the Dolphins got in major holes) to make the kind of Pro Bowl impact he’s capable of.
So, then first-year coach Adam Gase made a change. He played Wake more. He played him more and he played him earlier. And Wake and Andre Branch, also inserted as a starter, started to dominate games.
And credit to Gase, as he almost always does, he admitted he was wrong.
On Wednesday, as Miami’s minicamp grew nearer to close, Gase said he flat-out got it wrong.
[EXCLUSIVE: Photos from Wednesday at Dolphins minicamp]
“You’re trying to throw the first five games in my face there?” Gase said. “I mean, I made a mistake. I should have been playing him more early. We were trying to think long-term and think let’s get him in the most important snaps during games. And when you’re getting down, it puts us in a bad spot because we didn’t want to stick him out there and all they’re doing is pounding the football. You know we wanted him in there when teams were passing it. We just kept getting behind. And that was putting us at a disadvantage. And that’s when we decided we just have to make sure he’s out there more. So that’s kind of why we made that switch. We thought we were being smart. And it really kind of backfired on us. What we should have done is just let him play.”
And this is all part of what endears Gase http://www.newpatriotssale.com/nfl-new-england-patriots-replica-rob-gronkowski-jersey-87-outlet.html to his players.
He doesn’t stonewall. He doesn’t evade. He doesn’t dodge.
The word “TRUTH” is on the wall at the Dolphins facility, and Gase delivers it.
Could Wake, now 35, have handled playing more early last season?
Of course, defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh agreed Wednesday.
“I think at the end of the day what they wanted to do was ease Cam back in to his progression of playing at a high level,” Suh said. “At the end of the day I think they did a great job handling that. It’s proven in the pudding of what Cam produced. Obviously we could have done it earlier it could have been probably better but that’s in the past. And I think the future is where we’re at.”
What Suh loves is how Gase addressed the circumstance head on. He was even standing in the corner of a meeting room, waiting for his turn to speak with the media, as Gase wrapped up his session.
“I think coach is very accountability -oriented, for himself and his players and everybody in this building,” Suh said. “And that’s Walter Payton Womens Jersey something that’s great because he doesn’t put himself on a pedestal to say, ‘everything I say is perfect.’ And we’ve had some great conversations this offseason even when I wasn’t here of that nature about how he can get better and we can get better as a team. He’s a great head coach and he’s only going to get better because he has that mentality.”
Veteran offensive lineman Jermon Bushrod, who also played for Gase in Chicago, said Gase is all about identifying and correct mistakes, those made by anybody.
“(Gase is) always going to shoot you straight,” Bushrod said. “He’s always going to tell you how he feels about every situation that we’ve been in – good or bad – or how he could have been better and how we could have been better. That just makes us evaluate ourselves that much tougher, that much harder. So when your head coach can take accountability like that, then it’s just a trickle-down effect. We’re professionals and that’s just how it needs to be so you can fight to win.”
Gase said Wake, who has yet to speak with reporters following any of the 12 previous offseason organized team activities or mini-camp practices, sets a fine example on how to take care of his body and help facilitate career longevity.
In particular, Gase noted Wake is a fine role model for defensive end Andre Branch.
“We happen to have the guy that probably is the poster boy for doing it right,” Gase said. “For a long period of time. And making everyone else feel like he’s 38 and he looks like he’s 26. And (Wake) goes harder and longer than most of the players that we have that are 25, 24. (Branch) saw every day that if you do it right you can play for a very long time in this league.”

Hauptsache bio? Hauptsache gesund?
Minister Schmidt will Caterer-TÜV
